So here it is, my final visual moodboard along with my type moodboard again. For my final visual mood board, I will explain my position. For the past spreads that I have shown, there seems to be a lack of "me" in the project. My position in this project to show that in our (Han Chinese) deepest souls where lies the genes of Hanfu (han clothing)". What my position meant here is that, doesn't matter what happened
in history, the clothing itself has already carved into our hearts that it would never be
erased even though we don't know it or do not recognize the clothing anymore. It's like
the relationship between a boy and his mother. Even if they do not know each other, they
will unconsciouly find intamicay among them. This is in fact my personal experience when I put on the Manchurian clothing on me. As a result, this has further enhanced me to simplify my drawings down to the very basic forms, revealing only a touch of the nature and essence of Chinese clothings. Further visually, for all the characters I will draw, they will not have faces, or maybe just parts revealed. This book visually speaking, I hope it would be more like a book to remind something we know of the past. In order to constract the simply graphic characters, I used detail illustrations of history behind to punch up the memory idea that simple things resulted from complicated matters?

more sketches on layout, this time moving down to the aesthetic of the clothing

Here focusing on my topic, which is the final chapter of the book "memory". I will quickly discuss that in my later moodboads.

For my illustrations for the bookllet, I tried to stylized the figures for the audience that I am intending towards, which is mainly the late 80s and the 90s, people during this age are morely tuned into something that is much more easily undestande, so visuals are the key aspects. I try to condense the characters down as simplifed as possible to its essential nature or feautures. As long as people get that touch of the fluid, layering, and loose feel, then I guess I have met my goal.

more thumbnails for page layours, my purpose here on different spreads is to blow up the detail parts of the clothing, and apply the culture and view behind them and integrate them into a nice whole.

Typefaces moodboard
Cronos will be my main typefaces for continuous running text since it has a very elegant hummanist look, yet simple and also has a delicate calligraphic look on the ends of the letters which reveal oriental cultural moods

Just in case the prvious img wanst clear, here is another photo of the content

ideations for main page layouts and book cover, clearly, the Hanfu features must play a key role in the layout of every page? expecially the cover page

Here are some close up from the above.

Every main page will have the key physical feature of the clothing, when opened up, will reveal the background info behind.
